RESUMO

PURPOSE: To compare the surgical safety and postoperative quality of life (QOL) between side overlap anastomosis (SOA) and double-tract anastomosis (DTA) after laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy (LPG). METHODS: This retrospective cohort study included 43 patients with proximal gastric cancer (PGC) who underwent LPG and were admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University between August 2020 and December 2022 were in. Their clinical and follow-up data were collected. The patients were divided into the modified SOA (mSOA) (n = 20) and DTA (n = 23) groups based on the anastomosis methods used. The main outcome measures included the QOL of patients 1 year after surgery, and the evaluation criteria were based on the postgastrectomy syndrome assessment scale. Secondary outcome measures included intraoperative and postoperative conditions, postoperative long-term complications and nutritional status 3, 6 and 12 months after surgery. RESULTS: No significant differences were observed in intraoperative and postoperative conditions (P > 0.05) between the mSOA and DTA groups. The mSOA group showed a decreased incidence of reflux esophagitis 1 year after surgery compared with the DTA group (P < 0.05), and no statistically significant differences were noticed between the two groups in terms of other postoperative complications (P > 0.05). The mSOA group showed better QOL when compared with the DTA group (P < 0.05). No significant differences were recorded in postoperative nutritional status between the two groups (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: The efficacy and safety of LPG with mSOA for PGC were comparable. When compared with the DTA group, the mSOA group seems to show reduced incidence of gastroesophageal reflux and improved QOL, which makes mSOA one of the ideal surgical methods for PGC.

RESUMO

To investigate the quality differences between the seeds and husks of Amomum villosum and explore the rationality of using the seeds without husks, this study determined the content of protocatechuic acid, vanillic acid, epicatechin, quercitrin, volatile oil, water extract, and ethanol extract. The 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH), 2,2-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)(ABTS), and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities were determined to evaluate the antioxidant activities of seeds and husks. The quality differences between the seeds and husks were assessed through orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA) and analytic hierarchy process(AHP) combined with the entropy weight method(EWM). Significant differences(P<0.05) were observed in all 10 indicators between the seeds and husks. The levels of epicatechin, quercetin, and volatile oil were higher in the seeds, whereas those of protocatechuic acid, vanillic acid, water extract, and ethanol extract were higher in the husks. The seeds showed stronger scavenging ability against DPPH and ABTS radicals, while the husks showed a stronger scavenging effect on hydroxyl radicals. OPLS-DA significantly discriminated between the seeds and husks. Furthermore, volatile oil, water extract, DPPH radical scavenging rate, quercitrin, ABTS radical scavenging rate, hydroxyl radical scavenging rate, and vanillic acid were selected as the main differential indicators by variable importance in projection(VIP). Comprehensive scores calculated by AHP combined with EWM indicated that the seeds were superior to husks in terms of overall quality. However, there are still some dominant components and a certain antioxidant effect in the husks. Therefore, it is suggested to using Amomi Fructus with a certain amount of husks or utilizing the husks for other purposes.

RESUMO

The surface frustrated Lewis pairs (SFLPs) open up new opportunities for substituting noble metals in the activation and conversion of stable molecules. However, the applications of SFLPs on a larger scale are impeded by the complex construction process, low surface density, and sensitivity to the reaction environment. Herein, wurtzite-structured crystals such as GaN, ZnO, and AlP are found for developing natural, dense, and stable SFLPs. It is revealed that the SFLPs can naturally exist on the (100) and (110) surfaces of wurtzite-structured crystals. All the surface cations and anions serve as the Lewis acid and Lewis base in SFLPs, respectively, contributing to the surface density of SFLPs as high as 7.26 × 1014 cm-2. Ab initio molecular dynamics simulations indicate that the SFLPs can keep stable under high temperatures and the reaction atmospheres of CO and H2O. Moreover, outstanding performance for activating the given small molecules is achieved on these natural SFLPs, which originates from the optimal orbital overlap between SFLPs and small molecules. Overall, these findings not only provide a simple method to obtain dense and stable SFLPs but also unfold the nature of SFLPs toward the facile activation of small molecules.

RESUMO

Asparaginase-associated pancreatitis (AAP) is a severe and potentially life-threatening drug-induced pancreas targeted toxicity in the combined chemotherapy of acute lymphoblastic leukemia among children and adolescents. The toxicological mechanism of AAP is not yet clear, and there are no effective preventive and treatment measures available clinically. Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) is a secretory hormone that regulates lipid, glucose, and energy metabolism balance. Acinar tissue is the main source of pancreatic FGF21 protein and plays an important role in maintaining pancreatic metabolic balance. In this study, we found that the decrease of FGF21 in pancreas is closely related to AAP. Pegaspargase (1 IU/g) induces widespread edema and inflammatory infiltration in the pancreas of rats/mice. The specific expression of FGF21 in the acinar tissue of AAP rats was significantly downregulated. Asparaginase caused dysregulation of the ATF4/ATF3/FGF21 axis in acinar tissue or cells, and thus mediated the decrease of FGF21. It greatly activated ATF3 in the acinar, which competed with ATF4 for the Fgf21 promoter, thereby inhibiting the expression of FGF21. Pharmacological replacement of FGF21 (1 mg/kg) or PERK inhibitors (GSK2656157, 25 mg/kg) can significantly mitigate the pancreatic tissue damage and reduce markers of inflammation associated with AAP, representing potential strategies for the prevention and treatment of AAP.

RESUMO

Metabolism reprogramming within the tumor microenvironment (TME) can have a profound impact on immune cells. Identifying the association between metabolic phenotypes and immune cells in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) may reveal mechanisms of resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). Metabolic phenotypes were classified by expression of metabolic genes. Somatic mutations and transcriptomic features were compared across the different metabolic phenotypes. The metabolic phenotype of LUAD is predominantly determined by reductase-oxidative activity and is divided into two categories: redoxhigh LUAD and redoxlow LUAD. Genetically, redoxhigh LUAD is mainly driven by mutations in KEAP1, STK11, NRF2, or SMARCA4. These mutations are more prevalent in redoxhigh LUAD (72.5%) compared to redoxlow LUAD (17.4%), whereas EGFR mutations are more common in redoxlow LUAD (19.0% vs. 0.7%). Single-cell RNA profiling of pre-treatment and post-treatment samples from patients receiving neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy revealed that tissue-resident memory CD8+ T cells are responders to ICIs. However, these cells are significantly reduced in redoxhigh LUAD. The redoxhigh phenotype is primarily attributed to tumor cells and is positively associated with mTORC1 signaling. LUAD with the redoxhigh phenotype demonstrates a lower response rate (39.1% vs. 70.8%, p = 0.001), shorter progression-free survival (3.3 vs. 14.6 months, p = 0.004), and overall survival (12.1 vs. 31.2 months, p = 0.022) when treated with ICIs. The redoxhigh phenotype in LUAD is predominantly driven by mutations in KEAP1, STK11, NRF2, and SMARCA4. This phenotype diminishes the number of tissue-resident memory CD8+ T cells and attenuates the efficacy of ICIs.

RESUMO

We present an alternative scheme to achieve nonreciprocal unconventional magnon blockade (NUMB) in a hybrid system formed by two microwave cavities and one yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere, where the pump and signal cavities interact nonlinearly with each other and the signal cavity is coupled to the YIG sphere. It is found that the nonlinear coupling occurs between the pump cavity and magnon modes due to the dispersive interactions among three bosonic modes. Meanwhile, the Kerr nonlinearity is present in the pump cavity. Based on these nonlinear effects, a nonreciprocal magnon blockade could be achieved with the help of the weak parametric driving of the pump cavity. The present work provides an alternative method to prepare single magnon resource, which may be helpful for quantum information processing.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND & AIM: Clinical trials supplementing the long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFAs) docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (AA) to preterm infants have shown positive effects on inflammation-related morbidities, but the molecular mechanisms underlying these effects are not fully elucidated. This study aimed to determine associations between DHA, AA, and inflammation-related proteins during the neonatal period in extremely preterm infants. METHODS: A retrospective exploratory study of infants (n = 183) born below 28 weeks gestation from the Mega Donna Mega trial, a randomized multicenter trial designed to study the effect of DHA and AA on retinopathy of prematurity. Serial serum samples were collected after birth until postnatal day 100 (median 7 samples per infant) and analyzed for phospholipid fatty acids and proteins using targeted proteomics covering 538 proteins. Associations over time between LCPUFAs and proteins were explored using mixed effect modeling with splines, including an interaction term for time, and adjusted for gestational age, sex, and center. RESULTS: On postnatal day one, 55 proteins correlated with DHA levels and 10 proteins with AA levels. Five proteins were related to both fatty acids, all with a positive correlation. Over the first 100 days after birth, we identified 57 proteins to be associated with DHA and/or AA. Of these proteins, 41 (72%) related to inflammation. Thirty-eight proteins were associated with both fatty acids and the overall direction of association did not differ between DHA and AA, indicating that both LCPUFAs similarly contribute to up- and down-regulation of the preterm neonate inflammatory proteome. Primary examples of this were the inflammation-modulating cytokines IL-6 and CCL7, both being negatively related to levels of DHA and AA in the postnatal period. CONCLUSIONS: This study supports postnatal non-antagonistic and potentially synergistic effects of DHA and AA on the inflammation proteome in preterm infants, indicating that supplementation with both fatty acids may contribute to limiting the disease burden in this vulnerable population. CLINICAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03201588).

RESUMO

Herein, a novel and facile organic photosensitizer (thioxanthone)-mediated energy-transfer-enabled (EnT-enabled) dearomative [2+2] cycloaddition of aromatic heterocycles/maleimides for green synthesis of cyclobutane-fused polycyclic skeletons is reported. Mechanistic investigations revealed that different EnT pathways by triplet thioxanthone were initiated when different aromatic heterocycles participated in the reaction, giving the corresponding excited intermediates, which underwent the subsequent intermolecular [2+2] cycloaddition to access the desired highly functionalized cyclobutane-fused polycyclic skeletons.

RESUMO

The relationship between anxiety and sleep disorders is a key research topic in the academic community. However, evidence on the mechanism through which anxiety influences sleep disorders remains limited. The purpose of this study was to investigate the roles of flourishing and neuroticism in the mechanism through which anxiety influences sleep disorders in medical students. We constructed a moderated mediation model and tested the mediating role of flourishing and the moderating role of neuroticism in medical college students. The results showed that: (1) anxiety was significantly and positively related to sleep disorders and significantly and negatively related to flourishing; flourishing was significantly and negatively related to sleep disorders; neuroticism was significantly and positively related to sleep disorders; (2) flourishing had a mediation effect on the relationship between anxiety and sleep disorders; (3) neuroticism moderated the process through which flourishing mediated the effect of anxiety on sleep disorders. Our research expands the literature on the mechanism underlying the effects of anxiety on sleep disorders and provides insights into the potential prevention and intervention of sleep and emotional problems in medical students.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To develop and validate a whole-liver radiomic model using multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for predicting early-stage liver fibrosis (LF) in rabbits. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 134 rabbits (early-stage LF, n = 91; advanced-stage LF, n = 43) who underwent liver magnetic resonance elastography (MRE), hepatobiliary phase (HBP), dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE), intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM), diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) and T2* scanning were enrolled and randomly allocated to either the training or validation cohort. Whole-liver radiomic features were extracted and selected to develop a radiomic model and generate quantitative Rad-scores. Then, multivariable logistic regression was utilized to determine the Rad-scores associated with early-stage LF, and effective features were integrated to establish a combined model. The predictive performance was assessed by the area under the curve (AUC). RESULTS: The MRE model achieved superior AUCs of 0.95 in the training cohort and 0.86 in the validation cohort, followed by the DCE-MRI model (0.93 and 0.82), while the IVIM model had lower AUC values of 0.91 and 0.82, respectively. The Rad-scores of MRE, DCE-MRI and IVIM were identified as independent predictors associated with early-stage LF. The combined model demonstrated AUC values of 0.96 and 0.88 for predicting early-stage LF in the training and validation cohorts, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Our study highlights the remarkable performance of a multiparametric MRI-based radiomic model for the individualized diagnosis of early-stage LF. ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE: This is the first study to develop a combined model by integrating multiparametric radiomic features to improve the accuracy of LF staging.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitor sintilimab is effective in relapsed and refractory extranodal natural killer/T cell lymphoma (ENKTL), nasal type. We aimed to assess the safety and activity of sintilimab plus P-GEMOX (pegaspargase, gemcitabine, and oxaliplatin) in the first-line setting for advanced ENKTL. METHODS: The multicentre, single-arm, phase 2 trial was done at three medical centres in China. Patients aged 18-75 years with treatment-naive pathologically confirmed advanced ENKTL and an with Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status score of 0-2 were eligible. Patients received intravenous sintilimab (200 mg on day 1), intramuscular pegaspargase (2000 U/m2 on day 1), intravenous gemcitabine (1 g/m2 on days 1 and 8), and intravenous oxaliplatin (130 mg/m2 on day 1) every 3 weeks for six cycles, followed by intravenous sintilimab (200 mg) every 3 weeks for up to 2 years or until disease progression or unacceptable toxicities. The primary endpoint was the complete response rate in the intention-to-treat population. The secondary endpoints were overall response rate (ORR), progression-free survival (PFS), disease-free survival (DFS), and overall survival. This trial is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT04127227. Enrolment has been completed, and follow-up is ongoing. FINDINGS: Between Nov 29, 2019, and Sept 7, 2022, 34 eligible patients were enrolled (median age 39 years [IQR 32-55]; 25 [74%] of 34 patients were male; nine [26%] were female; and all were of Asian ethnicity). At the data cutoff (July 20, 2023), the median follow-up was 21 months (IQR 13-32). The complete response rate was 85% (29 of 34 patients, 95% CI 70-94). Five patients (15%; 95% CI 7-30) attained partial response and the ORR was 100% (34 of 34 patients). 24-month PFS was 64% (95% CI 48-86), 24-month DFS was 72% (54-95), and 36-month overall survival was 76% (52-100). The most common grade 3 or 4 treatment-related adverse events were neutropenia (17 [50%] of 34 patients), anaemia (10 [29%] patients), and hypertriglyceridemia (10 [29%] patients). Hypothyroidism was the most frequent immune-related adverse event (18 [53%]), including grade 3 hypothyroidism in one (3%) patient that caused treatment termination. No severe adverse events occurred. There were three deaths: one due to haemophagocytic syndrome, one due to disease progression, and one due to unknown cause, which were not considered to be treatment related. INTERPRETATION: Combination of sintilimab with P-GEMOX seems to be an active and safe first-line regimen for patients with advanced ENKTL. RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Breast cancer is a multifaceted and formidable disease with profound public health implications. Cell demise mechanisms play a pivotal role in breast cancer pathogenesis, with ATP-triggered cell death attracting mounting interest for its unique specificity and potential therapeutic pertinence. AIM: To investigate the impact of ATP-induced cell death (AICD) on breast cancer, enhancing our understanding of its mechanism. METHODS: The foundational genes orchestrating AICD mechanisms were extracted from the literature, underpinning the establishment of a prognostic model. Simultaneously, a microRNA (miRNA) prognostic model was constructed that mirrored the gene-based prognostic model. Distinctions between high- and low-risk cohorts within mRNA and miRNA characteristic models were scrutinized, with the aim of delineating common influence mechanisms, substantiated through enrichment analysis and immune infiltration assessment. RESULTS: The mRNA prognostic model in this study encompassed four specific mRNAs: P2X purinoceptor 4, pannexin 1, caspase 7, and cyclin 2. The miRNA prognostic model integrated four pivotal miRNAs: hsa-miR-615-3p, hsa-miR-519b-3p, hsa-miR-342-3p, and hsa-miR-324-3p. B cells, CD4+ T cells, CD8+ T cells, endothelial cells, and macrophages exhibited inverse correlations with risk scores across all breast cancer subtypes. Furthermore, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis revealed that genes differentially expressed in response to mRNA risk scores significantly enriched 25 signaling pathways, while miRNA risk scores significantly enriched 29 signaling pathways, with 16 pathways being jointly enriched. CONCLUSION: Of paramount significance, distinct mRNA and miRNA signature models were devised tailored to AICD, both potentially autonomous prognostic factors. This study's elucidation of the molecular underpinnings of AICD in breast cancer enhances the arsenal of potential therapeutic tools, offering an unparalleled window for innovative interventions. Essentially, this paper reveals the hitherto enigmatic link between AICD and breast cancer, potentially leading to revolutionary progress in personalized oncology.

RESUMO

Magnetic hydrogel actuators are developed by incorporating magnetic fillers into the hydrogel matrix. Regulating the distribution of these fillers is key to the exhibited functionalities but is still challenging. Here a facile way to spatially synthesize ferrosoferric oxide (Fe3 O4 ) microparticles in situ in a thermal-responsive hydrogel is reported. This method involves the photo-reduction of Fe3+ ions coordinated with carboxylate groups in polymer chains, and the hydrolytic reaction of the reduced Fe2+ ions with residual Fe3+ ions. By controlling the irradiation time and position, the concentration of Fe3 O4 microparticles can be spatially controlled, and the resulting Fe3 O4 pattern enables the hydrogel to exhibit complex locomotion driven by magnet, temperature, and NIR light. This method is convenient and extendable to other hydrogel systems to realize more complicated magneto-responsive functionalities.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIM: To explore the association of triglyceride glucose index-body mass index (TyG-BMI) and its dynamic changes with the risk of hypertension among middle-aged and older Chinese adults based on a large-sample prospective cohort study. METHODS AND RESULTS: Participants over 45 years old and without a history of hypertension were included from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study registry. Data were collected in 2011 and followed up in 2015. TyG index and TyG-BMI were calculated as ln (triglyceride∗glucose/2) and TyG index∗BMI, respectively. We performed multivariate logistic regression analysis to identify the relationship between the TyG index, TyG-BMI and their dynamic change and the risk of hypertension. In the analyses, 3885 participants were included. After 4 years of follow-up, 1705 (43.89 %) patients developed hypertension. Logistic regression analysis revealed that after adjustments for all potential confounding factors, the highest tertile of baseline TyG index, baseline TyG-BMI, and the dynamic change in TyG-BMI were each associated with higher hypertension incidence than the lowest tertile: OR,1.38, 95 % CI, 1.17-1.63, OR,1.28, 95 % CI, 1.06-1.56, and OR, 1.26, 95 % CI, 1.07-1.48, respectively, whereas TyG index change was not. Moreover, the risk of hypertension increased with increasing levels of baseline TyG index (P for trend < 0.001), baseline TyG-BMI (P for trend = 0.013), and the dynamic change in TyG-BMI (P for trend = 0.006). CONCLUSIONS: The baseline TyG index, baseline TyG-BMI, and the dynamic changes in TyG-BMI were significantly and positively associated with the risk of hypertension in Chinese adults older than 45 years.

RESUMO

The detailed dynamics of small molecular nonvolatile chemical and bacterial diversities, as well as their relationship are still unclear in the manufacturing process of Keemun black tea (KMBT). Herein, mass spectrometry-based untargeted metabolomics, Feature-based Molecular Networking (FBMN) and bacterial DNA amplicon sequencing were used to investigate the dense temporal samples of the manufacturing process. For the first time, we reveal that the pyrogallol-type catechins are oxidized asynchronously before catechol-type catechins during the black tea processing. Rolling is the key procedure for forming the small molecular nonvolatile metabolite profile (SMNMetProf), increasing the metabolite richness, and then shaping the bacterial community structure in the KMBT manufacturing process, which decreases both molecular weight and molecular polarity of the small molecular nonvolatile metabolites. The SMNMetProf of black tea is formed by the endogenous enzymatic oxidation of tea leaves, rather than bacterial fermentation.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The stone burden based management strategy reported in the guidelines published by different associations is well known for a long time. Staghorn calculi, representing the largest burden and most complex stones, is one of the most challenging cases to practicing urologists in clinical practice. The International Alliance of Urolithiasis (IAU) has released a series of guidelines on the management of urolithiasis. PURPOSE: To develop a series of recommendations for the contemporary management management of staghorn calculi and to provide a clinical framework for urologists treating patients with these complex stones. METHODS: A comprehensive literature search for articles published in English between 01/01/1976 and 31/12/2022 in the PubMed, OVID, Embase and Medline database is performed. A series of recommendations are developed and individually graded following the review of literature and panel discussion. RESULTS: The definition, pathogenesis, pathophysiology, preoperative evaluation, intraoperative treatment strategies and procedural advice, early postoperative management, follow up and prevention of stone recurrence are summarized in the present document. CONCLUSION: A series of recommendations regarding the management of staghorn calculi, along with related commentary and supporting documentation offered in the present guideline is intended to provide a clinical framework for the practicing urologists in the management of staghorn calculi.

RESUMO

Ambient air pollution is a major global health concern. Yet, no study has thoroughly assessed its link to respiratory mortality. Our research evaluated the combined and individual effects of air pollutants on respiratory mortality risks based on the UK Biobank. A total of 366,478 participants were studied. A Cox proportional hazards model was used to estimate the respiratory mortality risk from combined long-term exposure to five pollutants, summarized as a weighted air pollution score. During a median of 13.6 years of follow-up, 6113 deaths due to respiratory diseases were recorded. The hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) of respiratory diseases were 2.64 (2.05-3.39), 1.62 (1.23-2.12), 2.06 (1.73-2.45), 1.20 (1.16-1.25), and 1.07 (1.05-1.08) per 10 µg/m3 increase in PM2.5, PM2.5-10, PM10, NO2, and NOx, respectively. The air pollution score showed a dose-response association with an elevated respiratory mortality risk. The highest versus lowest quartile air pollution score was linked to a 44% increase in respiratory mortality risk (HR 1.44, 95% CI: 1.33-1.57), with consistent findings in subgroup and sensitivity analyses. Long-term individual and joint air-pollutant exposure showed a dose-response association with an increased respiratory mortality risk, highlighting the importance of a comprehensive air-pollutant assessment to protect public health.

RESUMO

The activation of NLRP3 inflammasome in microglia is critical for neuroinflammation during postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) induced by sevoflurane. However, the molecular mechanism by which sevoflurane activates the NLRP3 inflammasome in microglia remains unclear. The cGAS-STING pathway is an evolutionarily conserved inflammatory defense mechanism. The role of the cGAS-STING pathway in sevoflurane-induced NLRP3 inflammasome-dependent neuroinflammation and the underlying mechanisms require further investigation. We found that prolonged anesthesia with sevoflurane induced cognitive dysfunction and triggered the neuroinflammation characterized by the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome in vivo. Interestingly, the cGAS-STING pathway was activated in the hippocampus of mice receiving sevoflurane. While the blockade of cGAS with RU.521 attenuated cognitive dysfunction and NLRP3 inflammasome activation in mice. In vitro, we found that sevoflurane treatment significantly activated the cGAS-STING pathway in microglia, while RU.521 pre-treatment robustly inhibited sevoflurane-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation. Mechanistically, sevoflurane-induced mitochondrial fission in microglia and released mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) into the cytoplasm, which could be abolished with Mdivi-1. Blocking the mtDNA release via the mPTP-VDAC channel inhibitor attenuated sevoflurane-induced mtDNA cytosolic escape and reduced cGAS-STING pathway activation in microglia, finally inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome activation. Therefore, regulating neuroinflammation by targeting the cGAS-STING pathway may provide a novel therapeutic target for POCD.

RESUMO

The concentrations, spatial-temporal distribution, and influencing factors of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the sediments of Poyang Lake were studied, and a quantitative source analysis of PAHs in different areas of the lake was conducted. PAHs were widespread within the sediments. The concentrations of ∑16PAHs in the surface sediments of all sites ranged from 203 to 2 318 µg·kg-1. The concentrations of PAHs in the surface sediments of the lake body were higher than those in the surface sediments of the inlet rivers. The ratio of PAHs in Poyang Lake was 4 rings > 5 rings > 6 rings > 3 rings > 2 rings; the composition of 4-ring PAHs was dominant, and its content accounted for 86.11% of ∑16PAHs. The 2- and 3-ring and some 4-ring PAHs, including Flua and Pyr, were more susceptible to SOM, and the 4 through 6-ring PAHs were more susceptible to ORP and heavy metals and other environmental factors. Spatially, the higher concentration of ∑16PAHs occurred in the area of the lake adjacent to Duchang County and Poyang County, where the terrain was relatively closed, and the water exchange with the surrounding area was less than that in other sections, which was not conducive to the migration, transformation, and degradation of pollutants. In the temporal distribution, the changes in PAHs concentration level and the development of GDP in Jiangxi Province showed high consistency, and the influence of economic development and human activities might have been the main reason for the increasing PAHs concentration level. The main sources of PAHs in surface sediments of Poyang Lake included petroleum pollution and oil and coal and biomass combustion sources, and there were some spatial differences in PAHs sources in different regions. This study can provide a reference for PAHs pollution in surface sediments of Poyang Lake, which is important for the ecological environmental protection and management of Poyang Lake.

RESUMO

At present, the major public health challenges caused by novel coronavirus infection have gradually subside. However, a large number of people are still suffering from long-novel coronavirus syndrome or post-novel coronavirus syndrome. The clinical manifestations of long coronavirus syndrome are related to multiple systems, such as respiratory, circulatory, nervous, digestive and musculoskeletal systems, with various long-term persistent symptoms after novel coronavirus infection. At the same time, the infection of the novel coronavirus is an important cause of frailty and sarcopenia in the elderly population. However, at present, the scholars have not paid enough attention to the skeletal muscle weakness caused by the novel coronavirus. Therefore, this paper focuses on the long-novel coronavirus syndrome and sarcopenia to explore the pathological mechanism of skeletal muscle attenuation caused by the SARS-CoV-2 mediated "cytokine storm", mitochondrial damage, hypoxia state and other links,so as to raise the attention of clinical and academic researchers and improve the clinical strategy of frailty and sarcopenia after novel coronavirus infection.
